Waiting on Wednesday: Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted By Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly longing for and anticipating.
Title: Passenger
Author: Alexandra Bracken (!!!)
The author of The Darkest Minds series
Publication Date: January 5th 2016
I know this book is not going to be released for ages but it's Alexandra Bracken and she is the mastermind behind the Darkest Mind series!
There are some authors that have impressed you so much with their previous books that you just know you're going to run in to a bookstore and buy their next books ASAP (like Rick Riordan and Stephanie Perkins:)).

Etta sounds like a wonderful character! Whenever a character is described as being a musician or prodigy I always love to read scenes in which they play music (e.g. Kestrel's piano playing scene in Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski or Adam's lyrics in Where She Went by Gayle Forman) because you see another side of them- they just let go of everything and drown in their music.
This book also has a time-travel element which is always fun to read because we get to see characters struggling to fit in with a completely new world;) Plus she arrives on a ship which means a perfectly dangerous and beautiful setting + Etta and Nicholas have to find clues and solve a puzzle which means we've got a mystery/ clue hunt on our hands!
Alexandra Bracken created a one-of-a-kind character with Liam in The Darkest Minds as he was genuinely sweet and someone I would love to know so I'm sure she'll create a character we love with Nicholas.
How cute is Dug?
This series is so different from the first but I know it has the potential to be just as great!

So that's my Waiting on Wednesday! What's yours?:)
Thanks for reading!

  3. YES MAYA!!!! I can't even tell you how excited I am for this book! Usually it's the cover that sells me on a book without having read the synopsis, but I don't even need this book to have a cover. I love it already:) I'm always looking for a good time travel story, and I absolutely cannot wait to meet Nicholas. <3

    1. YAY! Your enthusiasm is completely adding to my excitement for this book!;) Even though we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, it's hard not to notice a beautiful or intriguing cover every once in a while:P
I love it too! I haven't read enough time travel stories so I can't wait to go into one when I know the author is amazing!
      I bet we'll love Nicholas<3

  5. I still haven't gotten round the The Darkest Minds books which is annoying because I was super excited for them to come out and have heard nothing but amazing things about them since. I really will have to get on to that as soon as possible. This new book sounds really good though. However I don't usually deal well with time travel, it confuses me and I end up questioning too much to enjoy the book. Despite that, this one sounds like it has enough intriguing things going on that I will keep my eye on it. Thanks for sharing and stopping by :)

    1. I hope that when you do read The Darkest Minds you'll love it! I know exactly how you feel- I have so many books I want to read and have heard the best things about yet I haven't picked them up yet:(
Haha! I haven't really tried much time travel fiction but I think I may just end up quite frazzled too;) Especially when they change something in the past and it affects the present and then it gets really complicated. But it just sounds so intriguing that I can't resist either:)
      Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Oh, goodness! I have known about this book (duology? I believe) for a while, but I hadn't yet seen the synopsis! I haven't read the Darkest Minds trilogy yet, but it's on my TBR for the year and I've heard so many good things about it. But THIS, this sounds just up my alley. Since I was a music education major in high school and I'm trying to find a music teacher job, the music aspect sounds so wonderful!

I'm so excited about this. And it doesn't hurt that Sarah J. Maas has been reading it and freaking out on Twitter, as well as publicly swooning over Nicholas. Can't wait!

Maybe you can start with this once then;) The music aspect sounds perfect for you (I think you'll like the music scenes in The Winner's Curse too:))!- Very cool major by the way:) I am useless with musical instuments:(
Sarah J Maas loves this!?:D I think I just got ten times more excited for this! Wooow I can't wait to read about Nicholas;)
